Description
Napping Platypus - Richard Reeve
This platypus is taking a short nap under water by wedging herself between two fallen logs.
Native to eastern Australia and Tasmania, these fascinating, egg laying monotreme mammals are unusual in so many ways, including the fact that the males have a venomous spur on their hind feet and that they locate their prey with an electric current.
