Description
Lyme Disease - Tick Zone - Richard Reeve
Tiny little ticks abound in the long grass in many parts of the world. The deer tick, Ixodes scapularis, is one of these that is prevalent around my home. This little beast can sometimes inject its package of the spirochete, Borellia burgdorferi, into an unsuspecting mammal. If that mammal is a human being then you may just be unlucky enough to develop Lyme Disease.
Antibiotic treatment is available if it is caught soon enough but repeated infections are possible and long term effects can be debilitating. This series of graphic art posters were inspired (if that is the correct term) by my two confirmed infections to date..
