Artist's Description
Overfalls Lightship, Lewes, Delaware.
LV119 was built in 1938 at Rice Brothers shipyard in East Boothbay, Maine, this lightship was a US Coast Guard Vessel and carried a crew of 14 broken into three "sections", working on weekly rotations - two on, one off.
She was decommissioned in 1972 ans designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011.

Great composition! I love the red of the lightship, standing out in the midst of sombre colours, with the eye being taken to the touch of red on the canopy to the left. And the posts in the foreground, giving depth, and the seagull perfectly perched on the post - it is looking at the lightship! v
