Description
Toledo Rail Station Tiles 01 - Richard Reeve
Designed by by architect Narciso Clavería y de Palacios in the Neo-Mudéjar style, Toledo Railway Station is a beautiful building that was opened in 1920. It contains beautiful tiled walls and a spectacular old ticket office and serves as a gateway to this wonderful city. It was restored between 2000-2005 to accept the new high speed rail link to Madrid. There is much symbolism here if you look closely; arrows for the trains and signifying journeys, parallel lines for rails, six-pointed stars in the style of the Star of David, which is pertinent to the City of Three Cultures.. what else?
