Description
Philadelphia - The Temple - Richard Reeve
When Baptist Minister Russell Conwell founded his small educational establishment in the basement of his Baptist Temple he probably never dreamed it would become the hugely successful public university that it is today. Taking its name from his original building Temple University has grown to be a successful and well renowned school of nearly 40,000 students. Even the original working class students are remembered, as they were originally called "night owls" for studying late at night. All temple students are consequently known as "Owls."
