Artist's Description
National Egg Collection
During The Great War (World War I) from 1914-1918 Britain launched a campaign to collect eggs to feed the wounded soldiers and sailors who were recuperating in Boulogne, France. The initial target of 20,000 eggs per week was soon raised to 200,000 per week. This was achieved by Easter 1915.
This would make an ideal gift for anyone with chickens be they commercial or a backyard chicken owner.

I love the posters of the early 20th century. And this is wonderful. I've never seen it before and didn't know about the egg collecting. Pretty cool how everyone came together to meet the goal. I love the back story and love the poster! l/f!
