Artist's Description
For hundreds of years people have carved their initials or names on the bark of trees, usually professing undying love or perhaps just wanting a small part of their past to be captured by nature.
After all all you need is a small penknife and you can literally make your mark. The tree heals up pretty quickly and it's interesting to go looking many years later to find your moniker.
I stumbled across this tree in a local wooded area. It seems a fairly popular marker and I wonder how many stories this tree could tell?
