The small town of Campo De Criptana, in the region of Castille La Mancha, Spain is home to ten windmills from the 16th Century that are likely to be the inspiration for Cervantes' famous tilting at Windmills scene in Don Quixote.
Records indicate that there were 34 such windmills here according to the Land Registry of the Marquis de Ensenada of that time, which our hero took to be 30-40 monstrous giants with whom he sought to do battle...
