Description
Helleborus are beautiful flowers that are steeped in folklore. For example, they are believed to have ties in summoning demons, yet paradoxically are also know as the Christmas Rose due to the legend of one sprouting in the snow from the tears of a young girl who had no gift to give to the Christ child!
Whatever your beliefs, although they are a poisonous medicinal plant (and possibly involved in the death pf Alexander the Great) they are a nice addition to a Spring garden.
